In the 20th century, science radically changed the world: it revolutionized medicine, brought new sources of energy and light, created technologies that transformed human life, and opened new horizons for society. The experience gained unequivocally confirms that the progress of a nation — and of humanity as a whole — is determined by the progress of science.

Taking note of the messages and reports presented by the participants of the International Scientific Conference on European Platform for Peace, organized on May 24^th, 2022 by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova with the involvement of notorious scientists from different parts of the world, the attendees adopted the following Appeal for Peace:

On April 23, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM) elected new honorary members during the 8^th Session of the General Assembly of Full and Corresponding Members, paying tribute to internationally renowned personalities for their outstanding contributions to the advancement of science and for their active role in strengthening academic cooperation.

Prof. Sir Peter David Gluckman, President of the International Science Council (ISC), will visit the Republic of Moldova from 15 to 17 April 2026, at the invitation of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. He will be accompanied by Dr. Salvatore Aricò, Chief Executive Officer of the International Science Council.

The Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova decided to award the „Dimitrie Cantemir" medal to Professor Klaus Mainzer, President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (Salzburg), for remarkable contributions to the development of science, collaboration with researchers from the Republic of Moldova, support given to the training of young researchers and highly qualified scientific staff by presenting public lectures of national interest.
