In the 20th century, science radically changed the world: it revolutionized medicine, brought new sources of energy and light, created technologies that transformed human life, and opened new horizons for society. The experience gained unequivocally confirms that the progress of a nation — and of humanity as a whole — is determined by the progress of science.

Taking note of the messages and reports presented by the participants of the International Scientific Conference on European Platform for Peace, organized on May 24^th, 2022 by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova with the involvement of notorious scientists from different parts of the world, the attendees adopted the following Appeal for Peace:

Prof. James Rothman: Science prospers when it develops internationally and draws from all the world’s talents,

and countries that encourage these talents prosper accordingly.

The Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova decided to award the „Dimitrie Cantemir" medal to Professor Klaus Mainzer, President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (Salzburg), for remarkable contributions to the development of science, collaboration with researchers from the Republic of Moldova, support given to the training of young researchers and highly qualified scientific staff by presenting public lectures of national interest. On Wednesday, June 12^th, 2024, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova invites to the festive meeting to celebrate 63 years since its foundation.

On May 16th, 2024, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova hosted the conference “Romanian-German interferences in musical art”, as part of the 33^rd Edition of the International Festival "Days of New Music".

The President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Academician Ion Tighineanu participated online on September 20, 2022 in an interactive session on the ZOOM platform with Professor Peter Gluckmam, President of the International Science Council. Acad. Tighineanu thanked Prof. Peter Gluckman for his contribution to the success of the International Conference "European Platform for Peace", organized on May 24th by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova: "It was a very good experience for us.

On the 28th of September, in the Blue Hall of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, the International Conference with the generic "Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development and Peace" took place, dedicated to the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development, declared as such at the end of last year ( 2 December 2021) during the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
