Romanian-German interferences in musical art were reflected in a conference held by Violeta Dinescu, member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts

On May 16th, 2024, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova hosted the conference “Romanian-German interferences in musical art”, as part of the 33rd Edition of the International Festival "Days of New Music". Composer Violeta Dinescu, Professor, member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, addressed various topics related to the music of Romanian composers in Europe, referring in particular to the creation of the famous composer George Enescu, as well as to the 1996 archive at the University of Oldenburg, which currently counts over 5 thousand documents about the creations of Romanian composers.

The President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, acad. Ion Tighineanu, mentioned in his welcome message the valuable contribution of Prof. Violeta Dinescu to the development of the field of musicology, her active participation in promoting the values of Romanian musical art in the world, her involvement and dedication in training scientific staff, as well as her fruitful collaboration with the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. The activity of Prof. Dinescu was appreciated by the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova with the "Dimitrie Cantemir" medal, the highest distinction of the Academy.

Prof. Ghenadie Ciobanu, founder and artistic director of the International Festival "Days of New Music”, spoke about the achievements of Prof. Violeta Dinescu. The high appreciation of scientific and creative activity came to the attention of Prof. Victoria Melnic, rector of the Academy of Music, Theater, and Plastic Arts in Chisinau.

Dr. Valeria Barbas reflected the history of the festival in Chisinau, which was also the subject of her doctoral thesis in the study of the arts, offering the audience some video recordings from the first edition of the cultural event.

The composer Gheorghe Mustea, member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, and violinist Irina Mureșanu from the USA talked about the importance of holding such cultural events.

The event was moderated by Prof. Aurelian Danila, deputy head of the Section of Social and Economic Sciences, Humanities, and Arts of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
