On December 19th, 2024, in the frame of the visit to the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM), Professor Klaus MAINZER, President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA), Salzburg, Austria, will deliver the public lecture „Artificial Intelligence in Science and Education” at 1:00 p.m. The event is organized in a mixed format, with physical presence in the Small Hall of the ASM and online via ZOOM:

The public lecture will be live streamed by the Information Society Development Institute.
Although this is the first visit to the Republic of Moldova, Prof. Klaus Mainzer has been collaborating with the Academy of Sciences of Moldova for several years. On June 10, 2021, during the Science Week dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Academy, he delivered the public lecture „Artificial intelligence: present status and future prospects”. On June 28, 2023, Prof. Klaus Mainzer contributed to the success of the International Scientific Conference „Science and Art for Peace”, an event reflected on the EASA website (https://euro-acad.eu/events?id=180). A year later, on August 27, 2024, on the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova, Prof. Klaus Mainzer delivered a lecture at the Summer School „Pathway to Scientific Discoveries” (https://euro-acad.eu/events?id=229).
For remarkable contributions to the development of science, collaboration with researchers from the Republic of Moldova, and significant support to the training of young researchers and highly qualified scientific staff by presenting public lectures of national interest, the Presidium of the ASM decided to award Prof. Klaus Mainzer with the „Dimitrie Cantemir” medal. The high academic distinction will be handed over to the EASA President during the festive meeting of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, which will take place on December 19th, 2024 in the Blue Hall, starting from 2:00 p.m.
Members of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova and designated members of the Scientific Sections, EASA members, university professors and interested researchers are invited to the public lecture and festive meeting.
