  • 27 February (several in-person and online events all over the world), 09:00 - 18:00 CET: “Global Women’s Breakfast” by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry.  Held in conjunction with the United Nations Day of Women and Girls in Science (8 – 9 February 2024), the goal of the GWB series is to establish an active network of people of all genders to overcome the barriers to gender equality in science. Through a series of presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, this webinar aims to provide a platform for identifying these challenges, sharing experiences, and exploring viable solutions to enhance global scientific exchange and networking.   • 24 April, 13:00 - 16:00 CET, Bergen, Norway: The Global Research Program on Inequality’s (GRIP) presents its Annual Lecture, a flagship event series that brings together renowned experts from academia, activism, and other relevant fields to address the multifaceted challenges of inequality will be held on 24 April 2024. GRIP will select a prominent academic to deliver the Annual Lecture each year, focusing on a specific inequality-related theme. This year’s annual lecture will be delivered with Walden Bello, the world-famous sociologist from the Philippines and the Focus on the Global South.   • 25 April, 07:00 - 16:00 CET: The Global Research Programme on Inequality’s Annual Symposium. Join the Annual GRIP Symposium on The Politics of Inequality and The Rise of the Illiberal Right: A Global Perspective. The Symposium follows the Annual GRIP Lecture on the same theme, delivered by Walden Bello on Wednesday, 24 April 2024.   • Call for nominations: 2024 Stein Rokkan Prize. The Stein Rokkan Prize for Comparative Social Science Research, presented annually by the University of Bergen, the European Consortium for Political Research and the ISC, is awarded to the most original and substantial contribution in comparative social science with a prize fund of € 5,000.
